Position Title: Casino Host

Position Summary: Provides extraordinary, personalized guest services and executes designated strategies to acquire and retain high-value players as defined in the host program designed and directed by the Executive Casino Host and Marketing Manager.

Essential Functions: The essential functions and responsibilities of this position are:

  • Be proactive in identifying and building relationships with new or emerging high-value players anywhere on property.
  • Provide excellent guest service to all players, guests and team members.
  • Actively greet, engage with, and thank all guests for visiting Wild Rose while maintaining a positive and friendly demeanor at all times.
  • Utilize professional and polite communication skills to foster a positive work environment with both guests and coworkers in order to facilitate the proper functioning of casino operations.
  • Be available to assist players on the casino floor or during events during the majority of his/her shift.
  • Proactively pursue opportunities to resolve problems, answer questions or concerns for Wild Rose guests and/or with team members.
  • Maintain discretion, confidentiality and professionalism with all internal and external information related to players or casino operations.
  • Use provided informational resources and communications to provide accurate information on up-coming promotions, drawings, and events with guests and team members.
  • Increase player-tracking participation by promoting player-card acquisition and regular use actively on the gaming floor and at all appropriate property venues.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to arrange accommodations and provide services according to established company and departmental guidelines.
  • Maintain contact and communication with an assigned list of high-value players via phone, email, standard mail, or in-person contacts.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with the player tracking database and similar tools and understand how to read guest account information, play histories, ‘theoretical’ and ‘actual’ wins.
  • Monitor and assist with issuance of ‘free play’ and other issued comps and accommodations accurately in order to maintain profitability over time.
  • Execute promotional drawings in compliance with all Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission (IRGC) Rules and Regulations – as well as all applicable local, state, or federal guidelines.
  • Positively identify and promote with guests the features and available accommodations of all property facilities – as well as Club Wild benefits.
  • Maintain vigilance on the casino floor at all times and ready to report emergencies, such as intoxicated or unruly guests, to Management or security immediately.
  • Actively keep work areas, including those shared with team members, clean and ‘neat’ in appearance.
  • Meet company attendance and dress code requirements and expectations at all times.
  • Represent the company with a professional demeanor on and off property.
  • Appear in promotional materials as needed, including but not limited to: social media, official photos, website, or any off-property initiatives.
  • Must be safety-conscious and adhere to all company rules and guidelines to that end.

Qualifications and Requirements: Must be able to obtain and retain a gaming license. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Special Attendance Requirements: Wild Rose Casino and Hotel is in operation seven days a week, 365 days a year. Employees will be required to work days, evenings, weekends, holidays, split shifts, and overtime. We are not able to work around outside activities or other jobs unless it is agreed to, in writing, at time of hire.

Education and/ or Experience:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) and prior guest service experience required. Casino experience preferred.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, team-building and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Must be resourceful and highly, self-motivated in seeking out new opportunities.
  • Must present a well-groomed, professional appearance.
  • Must have excellent guest service skills.
  • Ability to operate Windows operating system and Office Software, including e-mail.
  • Experience handling money preferred. Must have basic math skills.
  • National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) is desirable.
  • Work Environment/Physical Demands: Primarily an office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for up to 4 hours at a time without a break in the casino. Must be able to lift or carry up to 35 lbs infrequently. This individual is required to work in the casino environment subjecting him/her to cigarette smoke, bright lights, and moderate noise level.


Schedule: The schedule for this position is classified as full-time
